Expérience savoureuse pour le lunch à midi. Quartier excentré mais très bien desservi par les transports publics.

High quality food, honest service telling us what was fresh. Everything was super high quality. Only regret is that fish portions were a bit small.

Nestled in the heart of Eixample on Av. de Josep Tarradellas, La Lonja marisquería is a beacon for seafood lovers seeking authentic Galician flavors in Barcelona. This unpretentious yet inviting seafood restaurant offers a menu that reads like an ode to the sea — from the luxurious escamarlans al cava and fresh oysters to the tender chipirones al ajillo and classic pulpo gallego. Each dish is crafted with a clear passion for quality and tradition, delivering flavors that are both vibrant and true to their roots.

The experience here goes beyond just the food. Though the restaurant’s space is modest, its warmth and attentive service make you feel right at home. The owner’s personal touch, combined with honest recommendations about the freshest catches of the day, adds an intimate layer rarely found in dining today. This makes sampling dishes such as the centollo or rodaballo al horno not just a meal, but a shared moment with the essence of Galician mariner life.

Particular highlights include the paella de mariscos — a rich, saffron-infused celebration of seafood — and the pan con tómate y jamón ibérico, which perfectly balances simplicity and refinement. Not to be missed are the anchovies and the savory huevo con trufa, each delivering a burst of umami that lingers delightfully on the palate.

While some diners note that portions lean toward the smaller side, this seems a deliberate choice to focus on quality over quantity, encouraging a tasting approach that invites you to explore the variety of seafood treasures on offer. The pricing reflects this commitment to premium ingredients, which, combined with the restaurant’s cozy ambiance and genuine hospitality, crafts a memorable dining experience.

La Lonja marisquería is a subtle gem for those willing to venture outside the bustling center. Its combination of classic Galician seafood dishes, warm service, and a carefully curated menu make it a must-visit for seafood enthusiasts in Barcelona. Whether you come for the pa amb tomaca or the grill-cooked carne a la brasa, the freshness and depth of flavor will surely draw you back time and again.
